Amnesty International Slovenia

In 2011, Amnesty International is celebrating its 50th anniversary. We are a global, non-governmental and non-political movement of three million ordinary people who stand up for human rights. We reveal abuses, educate and mobilise the public and help change the world for the better. Our efforts were awarded with the Nobel peace prize in 1977.

The first group of Amnesty International activists in Slovenia started its work on 10. December 1998, on the international day of human rights, upon the initiative of 16-year-old Suzana Dewa. Today there are more than 8500 members and supporters of Amnesty International Slovenia.
